Rags Of Evidence is a child born from rag & boning Grandparents, jumble sales and growing up being dressed differently and then choosing to use fabric, painting, embroidery & clothing as a way of be-ing. Some of the painted cloth I have worn while working, others have travelled across time with me, mine and their her-stories are here intertwined with new work made while here in Margate.

& maybe our hearts should rule our heads

Calico my chosen fabric is mentioned by Dekker - an Elizabethan text describing Moone Men, it is from The Wind On the Heath A Gypsy Anthology by John Sampson (A Gypsylorist). For now this Moone be-ing is emerging from here, already a transformation has taken place, what you see here are fragments of time, caught in paint, fabric, clothing, images, text, embroidery and it will transform again…………

Born in Worthing 1965.

Disrupted education between the age of five to sixteen. Listening to Poly Styrene in 1978 dressing in vintage and handmade

clothes.1980 goes to local art school. 1984 The House of Le Bas is created.

1985 Damian James Le Bas joins. 1986 to 1988 - Saint Martins School of Art London - art, clubbing, fashion and keeps travelling as a

Lifeist** and Performalist*** in and across the UK and Europe, South Korea, Zimbabwe. Canada and Rajasthan. Works included in

Venice Biennale, Prague Biennale, Gwangju Biennale and other art institutions internationally. It all continues...
